Rich Reese Autograph

Rich Reese was born on June 29, 1941, in Leipsic, Ohio. He began his baseball career as an outfielder in 1960 with the Tampa Tarpons in the Florida State League, and then with the Erie Sailors in the New York-Pennsylvania League. In 1961, he was promoted to the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League, where he made his mark as a strong-hitting first baseman. More about Rich Reese

Reese went on to play in the major leagues for 8 seasons, beginning in 1964 with the Minnesota Twins. He quickly established himself as a reliable first baseman and power hitter, and helped lead the Twins to the American League pennant in 1965. He played for the Twins until 1972, then finished his career with the Texas Rangers in 1973. Over his career, he hit .258 with 126 home runs and 485 RBI.

After retiring from playing, Reese continued his involvement in baseball as a coach and scout for the Twins and other teams. He was known as a hard-working and knowledgeable coach who was always willing to lend his expertise to young players.
