Rick Anderson Autographs
Rick Anderson is a retired American baseball pitcher who was born on December 25, 1956, in Everett, Washington. Anderson's love for baseball began at a young age, and he played for Cascade High School, where he earned All-State honors twice. In 1978, he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 21st round of the MLB Draft, and he began his professional career with the Wisconsin Rapids Twins of the Midwest League. Anderson worked his way up through the Twins' minor league system and eventually made his MLB debut on April 6, 1986.
Anderson spent his entire pitching career with the Minnesota Twins, where he established himself as a reliable relief pitcher. He was known for his ability to pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen and his consistency in getting outs when his team needed them the most. During his nine-year career, Anderson compiled a record of 35 wins and 30 losses with a 4.18 ERA. He retired in 1994 after appearing in 370 games, all but one of which was with the Twins.
After his playing career, Anderson became a pitching coach in the Twins' minor league system, eventually working his way up to become the team's pitching coach from 2002 to 2014. During his tenure as pitching coach, Anderson helped develop several successful pitchers, including Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano, and Joe Nathan. Anderson was known for his calm demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with his pitchers, and he was highly respected throughout the league for his knowledge and expertise.
