Rod Nichols Autographs
Rod Nichols was an American professional baseball player who was born on April 13, 1966, in Burlington, Iowa. He attended Burlington High School where he began his baseball career as a pitcher. In 1984, Nichols was selected in the first round by the Cleveland Indians. He worked his way through the minor leagues and made his major league debut in 1988. Nichols was known as a left-handed pitcher and played for the Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers during his eight-year career in the major leagues. He had a career record of 27-29 and an ERA of 4.56.
During his major league career, Nichols became a fan favorite due to his never give up attitude and his incredible talent on the mound. He was a reliable and consistent pitcher who always gave his best every time he took to the field. Nichols was also known for his excellent control and his ability to pitch a variety of different pitches at different speeds. Nichols was also known for his clutch performances in big games, which helped the teams he played for perform well in crucial moments.
After retiring from baseball, Nichols went into coaching, becoming the pitching coach for several minor league teams including the Buffalo Bisons, the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and the Cleveland Indians. For several years in the early 2000s, Nichols was also a pitching coach for the Long Island Ducks, an independent professional baseball team. Throughout his career in baseball, Rod Nichols was an inspiration to many with his dedication, consistency and passion for the game.
