Colon was a hard-throwing right-hander who relied on his fastball and slider to strike out batters. He pitched in 26 games for the Tigers in 2004, earning a 2-2 record with a 5.14 ERA. The following season, Colon was traded to the Kansas City Royals, where he pitched for two seasons before being traded again to the Boston Red Sox. While with the Red Sox in 2008, Colon had a 3.92 ERA in 23 games but was limited to only 20 innings due to injuries. He signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2009 but was released after just one season.

Since leaving professional baseball, Colon has remained involved in the sport. He has worked as a pitching coach for the Dominican Republic national team and runs his own baseball academy in his hometown. Colon's legacy as a player may not have been glamorous, but his dedication to the game and his work to help young players develop their skills have made him a respected figure in the baseball community.
