Ron Cey Autographs

Ron CeyRon Cey is a retired Major League Baseball player best known for his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played for the Dodgers from 1971 to 1982 and was an integral part of the team’s success in the 1970s. During his tenure with the Dodgers, he was known as the “Penguin” for his waddling running style and his ability to hit home runs. Cey was a third baseman and was known for his excellent defense and clutch hitting.
Cey’s baseball career began in 1968 when he was drafted by the Dodgers. He started off playing in the minor leagues and was eventually called up to the majors in 1971. He quickly established himself as a solid third baseman and was a key player on the Dodgers’ team that won the National League pennant in 1974. The team would go on to make it to the World Series that year and although they lost, Cey’s performance was outstanding. He hit three home runs in the series and was named the Most Valuable Player.
Cey continued to play for the Dodgers until 1982 when he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He played with the Cubs for three seasons before retiring in 1987. Over the course of his career, he was named to six All-Star teams and won a World Series with the Dodgers in 1981. After retiring, Cey remained involved in baseball by working as a coach and analyst. In 2013, he was inducted into the Dodgers’ Hall of Fame, cementing his status as one of the greatest players in team history.
