Ron Hansen is a former professional baseball player who was born on April 5, 1938, in Oxford, Nebraska. Hansen's baseball career started at the age of 19 when he signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 1956. He played for the Orioles for six seasons, primarily as a shortstop. Hansen quickly established himself as a talented player, earning the 1958 American League Rookie of the Year Award.
