Ron Jones Autographs
Ron Jones is a former American baseball player born on January 11, 1964, in Seguin, Texas. Jones was an outfielder and designated hitter, known for his power hitting abilities. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the second round of the 1982 Major League Baseball draft and made his Major League debut with the team in 1986. Jones quickly became a fan favorite due to his impressive batting performance, hitting 13 home runs in just 105 at-bats during his rookie season.
Jones' career was marred by injuries, limiting his playing time over the next few years. In 1988, he hit a career-high .312 and continued to show his power with 19 home runs and 75 RBIs in just 389 plate appearances. Unfortunately, Jones suffered a severe knee injury in 1989, which ultimately ended his career prematurely. He attempted a comeback in 1992 with the Houston Astros, but he was unable to replicate his previous success and retired from professional baseball in 1993.
Despite his short-lived career, Ron Jones will always be remembered for his impressive hitting abilities and his contributions to the Phillies. He finished his career with a .258 batting average, 25 home runs, and 82 RBIs in 215 games. Jones was inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame in 2018 to honor his contributions to the team. Today, Jones is still involved in baseball, working as a hitting instructor and coach for young players.
