Ron Kittle was a professional baseball player who played in the Major League Baseball for 12 seasons. He was born on January 5, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. He played baseball in William A. Wirt High School where he played outfield and pitched for the school team. He joined the national baseball team at the age of 18 and was named the Indiana Player of the Year in 1975. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1977 but opted to play for Gulf Coast League, a minor league team. More about Ron Kittle

Kittle’s professional baseball career began in 1982 when he played for the Chicago White Sox as a designated hitter. Kittle had an impressive rookie season, scoring 35 home runs, establishing himself as one of the top young sluggers in the game. In 1983, he hit 32 home runs and helped the White Sox win the American League West Division. In the same season, he was awarded the American League Rookie of the Year award. Kittle played for six different teams throughout his career, including the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, and Milwaukee Brewers.

Kittle retired from the sport in 1991 with an impressive record of 176 home runs and 460 RBIs. He became a TV commentator for the Chicago White Sox, a job he held for nine seasons. In 2013, Kittle returned to the sport, working as a batting coach. Kittle was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999 for his contribution to the sport.
