Ross Detwiler was born on March 6th, 1986, in Wentzville, Missouri, and is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He attended the Missouri State University and played college baseball for the Bears. Detwiler's career began when he was selected in the first round, 6th overall, by the Washington Nationals in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. Ross Detwiler played for the Washington Nationals from 2007-2012 and was inducted into the Nationals' Ring of Honor. His best season was in 2010, where he compiled a 4.25 ERA in 25 starts, with two complete games and 105 strikeouts. Detwiler's fastball, which he uses as a groundball-inducing pitch, is his most significant weapon on the mound.
