Sal Bando is a retired American professional baseball player who was born on February 13, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. Bando has had a standout baseball career and was known for his powerful swings and exceptional performance on the field. He primarily played as a third baseman, but he also played as a shortstop and right fielder. Bando spent his debut season in the minor leagues and made his first appearance in the major leagues in 1966. He played for the Athletics until 1976, leading the team to three World Series championships in 1972, 1973, and 1974. In the 1973 American League Championship Series, Bando hit a game-winning home run in the seventh game against the Baltimore Orioles.
