Sam Dyson Autographs
Samuel Isaac Dyson was born on May 7, 1988, in Tampa, Florida. He attended Jesuit High School and later played college baseball at the University of South Carolina. In 2010, he was drafted in the fourth round by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Dyson began his professional career in the minor leagues and made his debut with the Blue Jays in 2012. However, it was with the Texas Rangers where he made his mark as a dominant reliever. In 2015, he posted a 1.15 ERA in 31 innings pitched, and in 2016, he recorded 38 saves, leading the American League. He was a key member of the Rangers' bullpen during their playoff runs in 2015 and 2016.
In 2017, Dyson was traded to the San Francisco Giants, where he continued his success as a closer. He was eventually traded again to the Minnesota Twins in 2019, but struggled with injuries and was released mid-season. Dyson finished his career with a 3.40 ERA and 47 saves over seven seasons in the MLB. He announced his retirement from baseball in September 2021. Despite the ups and downs of his career, Dyson will be remembered as a fierce competitor and dominant reliever on the field.
