Scooter Gennett is a former American professional baseball second baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for eight seasons. Gennett was born on May 1, 1990, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended Sarasota High School in Florida. Gennett spent his first four seasons in the MLB with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he had a breakout year in 2017. He hit four home runs and 10 RBIs in a single game against the Cincinnati Reds, a feat accomplished by only 17 players in MLB history. That year, he hit .295 with 27 home runs and 97 RBIs. In 2018, Gennett was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he played for two seasons before being designated for assignment in 2020. He finished his MLB career with a batting average of .261, with 88 home runs and 342 RBIs.

Aside from his MLB career, Gennett played for the United States national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. In addition, he has been active in charity work, including his involvement with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Gennett retired from baseball in 2021 and has focused on his family and other aspects of his life.
