Scott Aldred Autographs
Scott Aldred is a former left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for 14 seasons. He was born on June 12, 1968, in Flint, Michigan. Aldred started playing baseball in his high school years, where he was heavily scouted by MLB teams. In 1986, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 16th round of the MLB Draft.
Aldred made his debut with the Tigers in 1990 as a reliever, but quickly moved to the starting rotation in the following year. He pitched for the Tigers for five seasons, which he was considered to be one of the bright spots in the team during that period despite having an average record. He then played for several other teams, including the Montreal Expos, the Seattle Mariners, and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 1998, Aldred signed with the New York Yankees, where he pitched for three seasons and won two World Series championships in 1998 and 1999.
After retiring from baseball in 2000, Aldred joined the coaching staff for the Detroit Tigers, where he served as a pitching coach for their minor league affiliates. In 2015, he was promoted to the Tigers' bullpen coach, where he worked under pitching coach Jeff Jones. In 2017, Aldred was hired by the New York Yankees as their pitching coordinator for their minor league affiliates, where he still serves today. His impact on the game continues as he trains and coaches young stars in the making.
