Scott Drew was born on October 23, 1970, in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a young athlete, Drew had exceptional prowess in baseball, which led him to pursue a career in the sport. He attended Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, where he was a standout player for the Grizzlies. Drew's impressive performance on the field attracted the attention of top scouts, leading to his selection by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 35th round of the 1992 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft.
After signing with the Cardinals, Drew spent four years in the minor leagues, playing for teams such as the Hamilton Redbirds, Springfield Cardinals, and Arkansas Travelers. He had a successful minor league career, earning recognition for his strong defensive play and solid running ability. Drew's career in the minors came to an end in 1996, following a wrist injury that forced him to retire from professional baseball.
Despite his short career in the MLB, Scott Drew's contribution to the sport remains significant. He was a talented player known for his commitment, skill, and strong work ethic. Drew's experience as a baseball player has also helped him become a successful college basketball coach. He currently serves as the head coach for the Baylor Bears men's basketball team, leading the team to their first-ever national championship win in 2021.
