Scott Elbert Autographs
Scott Elbert is a former left-handed pitcher who played professional baseball for nine seasons. Born on August 13, 1985, in Joplin, Missouri, he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft. He made his debut with the Dodgers in 2008 and played with the team until 2014. Elbert was known for his reliable pitching and his exceptional fastball. In 2012, he was named the Dodgers' best reliever of the season, winning nine games out of the bullpen and posting an impressive 2.20 ERA.
Elbert started playing baseball as a young child and quickly developed into a top prospect. He was a standout pitcher at Seneca High School in Seneca, Missouri, where he earned All-State honors and set a school record for strikeouts. After graduating from high school, he opted to forgo college and instead signed with the Dodgers after being selected in the first round of the draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues, working his way up through the ranks until he eventually earned a spot on the Dodgers' major league roster.
Unfortunately, Elbert's career was marred by several injuries. In 2013, he underwent surgery to repair a torn elbow ligament, which sidelined him for nearly a year. He made a brief comeback in 2014, but then was sidelined again with another injury. After missing two full seasons, he retired from professional baseball in 2016. Despite the injuries, Elbert remains proud of his achievements as a ballplayer, which include a World Series appearance with the Dodgers in 2009 and a career ERA of 3.54. He currently resides in his hometown of Joplin, Missouri, where he operates a baseball academy and gives back to the community by working with young athletes.
