Erickson's professional baseball career began in 1990 when he made his debut for the Twins. He quickly became a standout pitcher for the team and was an integral part of their World Series Championship in 1991. In 1993, he had his best season, winning 20 games and earning a 3.18 ERA. Erickson continued to play for the Twins until 1995 before being traded to the Baltimore Orioles.

Erickson played for multiple teams throughout his 15-year career, including the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers, but he is most well known for his time with the Twins and Orioles. He ended his career in 2006 with a record of 142-136 and a 4.59 ERA. Erickson's contributions to the Twins' World Series win and his impressive statistics throughout his career have cemented him as a respected and admired player in the world of baseball.
