Sean Berry Autographs
Sean Berry is a former professional baseball player and coach who was born on March 22, 1966, in Santa Monica, California. He graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in 1984 and then played college baseball at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He was an All-American third baseman at Loyola Marymount and was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1986.
Berry was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 1986 Major League Baseball draft. He made his major league debut in 1990 with the Royals and spent parts of seven seasons in the majors, also playing for the Montreal Expos, Houston Astros, and Milwaukee Brewers. He had a career batting average of .257 with 45 home runs and 283 runs batted in. Berry played mostly at third base but also saw time at first base and in the outfield.
After his playing career ended, Berry became a coach, serving as a minor league hitting coach for the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He then became the hitting coach for the Houston Astros in 2013 and held that position for six seasons, helping the team to reach the ALCS in both 2017 and 2019. Berry is known for his expertise in hitting mechanics and his ability to relate to players. He was also named the USA Today’s Best Hitting Coach for 2019.
