Sean Douglass Autographs
Sean Douglass is a former professional baseball player who was born on April 28, 1978, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He attended Avon Grove High School in West Grove, Pennsylvania, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was known for his outstanding skills and athleticism on the baseball field, which led him to become the first-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in the 1997 Major League Baseball draft.
Douglass began his professional baseball career with the Gulf Coast Orioles in 1997 and quickly climbed up the ranks to play in the major leagues. He spent six seasons in the minor leagues, during which he recorded impressive numbers, including 665 strikeouts and a 3.89 earned run average (ERA). Douglass made his major league debut on July 7, 2001, for the Baltimore Orioles, where he pitched six innings and struck out nine batters. He played for the Orioles until 2004, and his career also included stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, and Hanshin Tigers in Japan. Over his career, Douglass accumulated 110 strikeouts, a 5.65 ERA, and a 9-9 record in 54 games played.
Despite his relatively brief MLB career, Douglass had a notable impact on the game. He was known for his aggressive approach to pitching and his impressive fastball, which often reached 95 mph. His performance even earned him a Baseball America Rookie All-Star selection in 2002. Today, Douglass focuses on coaching, passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of athletes.
