Shane Rawley Autographs
Shane Rawley is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who was born on June 27, 1955. He played for several teams including New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins, and Seattle Mariners. Rawley started his baseball career at Hialeah High School in Florida, where he played as a pitcher and first basemen.
Rawley made his Major League debut on July 12, 1978, pitching for the Seattle Mariners. In 1984, he was traded to the Phillies where he had a career-best season, winning 17 games and leading the league with a 2.79 earned run average. Rawley was an important contributor to the Phillies reaching the World Series in 1983, 1984, and 1993. In his 11-year career, he won 111 games and had a 4.02 ERA with 1,085 strikeouts.
After his baseball career, Rawley became an entrepreneur in the ranch and landscaping industry in Texas. In 2016, he recounted his time in baseball and his business ventures in his book, Pitching Around Fidel: A Journey into the Heart of Cuban Sports. Rawley remains an important figure in baseball history and is remembered for his ferocious pitching style and leadership on and off the field.
