Coveleski's baseball career took off post-World War I, when he joined the Cleveland Indians in 1916. He quickly established himself as one of the best pitchers in the league, winning 20 games in his first full season. Coveleski became even more dominant in the years that followed, leading the Indians to their first World Series win in 1920, despite pitching with a broken thumb. Coveleski was also part of the Yankees team that won the World Series in 1928, but he retired after that season at the age of 38.

Coveleski was known for his precise control, his ability to make batters miss, and his ability to pitch well under pressure. He had a career ERA of 2.89 and 215 wins, and he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. Coveleski's legacy lives on as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, and his name remains synonymous with dominance on the mound. Read even more about Stan Coveleski at Wikipedia
