Steve Braun is a former Major League Baseball player who was born on May 8, 1948, in Trenton, New Jersey. He attended Trenton Central High School, where he was a standout athlete in multiple sports. However, baseball was always his passion, and he was signed by the Minnesota Twins as an amateur free agent in 1966. He made his MLB debut with the Twins in 1971 and played for them until 1976. Braun's baseball career reached its peak during his time with the Twins. He was primarily a third baseman and was known for his consistency both at the plate and in the field. He hit for a high average, with a career batting average of .271, and was a reliable fielder with a .957 fielding percentage. In 1975, he hit .307 with 7 home runs and 55 RBIs, which helped the Twins win the American League West division title.

After leaving the Twins, Braun played for several other teams, including the Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Detroit Tigers. He retired from baseball in 1985 with a career total of 599 runs, 898 hits, and 239 RBIs. After his playing career ended, Braun remained involved in baseball, serving as a coach and scout for various teams. He also worked as a broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers, where he provided color commentary for their radio broadcasts.
