Steve Rogers

Steve Rogers was born on October 26, 1949, in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He attended University of Tulsa on a baseball scholarship and played for the school's team as a pitcher. In 1971, he was drafted in the first round by the Montreal Expos as the fourth overall pick. Rogers made his Major League debut for the Expos in 1973 and played for the team for his entire career that lasted for 13 seasons. More about Steve Rogers

As a pitcher, Rogers was known for his fastball and his devastating screwball. Throughout his career, he was chosen to pitch in three All-Star games and won a Gold Glove Award in 1982, which recognized his outstanding fielding abilities as a pitcher. In addition to his athletic abilities, Rogers was also known for his leadership qualities and his unflappable nature on the field.

Overall, Rogers' baseball career was an impressive feat, as he finished with a record of 158 wins and 152 losses with a 3.17 ERA. His legacy with the Expos is still revered to this day, and he was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in 1995.
