During his career, Davis achieved many accomplishments. He was the American League Championship Series Most Valuable Player in 1983 and won the 1989 World Series with the Oakland A's. He also threw a no-hitter, and earned an All-Star appearance in 1988. Davis had a solid career record with 113 wins and 96 losses, and a lifetime earned run average of 4.02.

Davis retired from baseball in 1994, and later became a coach, serving both the minor and major leagues. He is remembered as a talented and reliable pitcher with a calm and collected presence on and off the field. Davis was a true professional who had a successful and impactful career in baseball.
