Stubby Clapp Autographs
James "Stubby" Clapp is a former professional Canadian baseball player born on February 24, 1973, in Windsor, Ontario. Clapp attended Texas Tech University, where he was a three-time All-American and played second base. He was then selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 36th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft.
Clapp played for the minor leagues for several years and was eventually called up to the major leagues for the first time in 2001. In his major league debut with the Cardinals on April 18, 2001, he hit a triple in his first at-bat. Clapp played a total of 23 games in the major leagues before retiring from professional baseball in 2007.
After his baseball career, Clapp became a coach and manager. He managed in the minor leagues for several years before being named the manager of the Canadian national baseball team in 2016. Under his leadership, the Canadian team won a gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. Clapp has become a beloved figure in Canadian baseball and is known for his hard work and determination both on and off the field.
