Tadahito Iguchi is a former professional baseball player from Japan who spent 11 seasons playing Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 4, 1974, in Tokyo, Japan. Iguchi began his baseball career in the Japanese League with the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in 1997. In his five seasons with the Hawks, Iguchi played mostly as a shortstop and second baseman and was a two-time All-Star selection. He was also named the Pacific League's Most Valuable Player in 2003 after putting up impressive numbers, such as a .333 batting average, 24 home runs, and 26 stolen bases.
In 2005, Tadahito Iguchi signed with the Chicago White Sox, becoming the team's starting second baseman. He played a crucial role in the team's 2005 season, contributing to their first World Series championship win since 1917. Iguchi proved to be an essential player for the White Sox, both offensively and defensively. He hit a career-high 18 home runs in 2006 and regularly saved crucial runs for the White Sox with his solid defensive plays at second base. In 2008, Iguchi was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies mid-season, where he played for two seasons before signing with the San Diego Padres and ending his career there in 2010.
