Terry Kennedy Autographs
Terry Kennedy is a former Major League Baseball catcher who played for 14 seasons from 1978 to 1991. Born on June 4, 1956, in Euclid, Ohio, Kennedy grew up in a baseball-loving family and developed a passion for the sport at a young age. He attended Florida State University, where he played college baseball and was named an All-American in 1976.
Kennedy was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 1977 MLB draft and made his major league debut in 1978. He spent the first five years of his career with the Cardinals before being traded to the San Diego Padres in 1981. It was with the Padres that Kennedy had the most success of his career, earning two All-Star selections and a Silver Slugger award in 1982. He helped lead the Padres to the World Series in 1984, where they ultimately lost to the Detroit Tigers.
After leaving the Padres, Kennedy played for several more teams, including the Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants, and Texas Rangers. He retired in 1991 with a career batting average of .264, 113 home runs, and 628 RBI. Kennedy also had a reputation as an excellent defensive catcher, earning three Gold Glove awards during his career. He later worked as a coach and manager in minor league baseball before retiring from the sport altogether.
