Tito Fuentes was born on January 4, 1944 in Havana, Cuba. He began his professional baseball career at a young age, playing for the Havana Sugar Kings in the International League. In 1965, at the age of 21, Fuentes made his major league debut with the San Francisco Giants. He quickly established himself as a reliable second baseman with great defensive skills and a strong arm. Fuentes was known for his aggressive style of play and his infectious personality on the field. He was a fan favorite wherever he played, attracting a loyal following with his enthusiasm and passion for the game. In addition to his defensive skills, Fuentes was also a solid hitter, finishing his career with a .268 batting average, 438 runs batted in, and 1,290 hits.
