Tom Browning Autographs
Tom Browning, born on April 28 1960, is a former left-handed pitcher who played for the Cincinnati Reds from 1984 to 1994. He was born in Casper, Wyoming and grew up in Tennessee. Browning began his professional career in 1982 after the Reds drafted him in the ninth round of the MLB June Amateur Draft.
Browning is best known for pitching a perfect game on September 16, 1988, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was a historic moment in his career and cemented his name in the baseball record books. Throughout his 12-year career, Browning also won two National League Championships and helped lead the Reds to victory in the 1990 World Series, where he won Game 3. He led the National League in wins twice (1985 and 1989) and picked up a Silver Slugger award in 1991.
Browning retired from the game in 1995 with a record of 123-90, a 3.94 ERA, and 1,000 strikeouts. His excellent career was cut short by injuries to his shoulder and elbow. Following his retirement, Browning took on a few coaching and mentoring roles in the minor leagues. Today, he is happily retired and is remembered as a talented and charismatic pitcher who undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the history of the Cincinnati Reds.
