Tomas Nido Autographs
Tomas Nido is a professional baseball catcher from Puerto Rico. Born on April 12, 1994, Nido began playing baseball in his early years and quickly showed exceptional skills in the sport. In 2012, he was drafted by the New York Mets as their eighth round pick in the Major League Baseball draft.
Nido spent six years in the minors, playing for different teams under the Mets organization. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 2017, and scored his first home run on September 26 the same year. Nido gradually gained more playing time in the next few seasons, particularly in the 2020 season, where he appeared in 24 games and recorded a batting average of .292.
Despite playing in a backup role primarily, Nido became a valuable option for the Mets as a catcher. His abilities behind the plate were impressive, as he was able to frame pitches well to help pitchers get more strikes. His throwing arm is also said to be one of the strongest in the league. With his strong work ethic and determination, Nido has the potential to establish himself as a more regular presence in the Mets' lineup in the coming seasons.
