In 1962, Tommie Aaron made his debut in Major League Baseball with the Milwaukee Braves, who later became the Atlanta Braves. He played primarily as an outfielder and a first baseman but also played as a third baseman on occasion. In 1967, his most successful year, he recorded career-highs with 19 home runs and 62 runs batted in while playing in 142 games. The following year, he hit a grand slam in a game against the Astros, becoming the first pair of brothers to hit grand slams in the same game along with Hank.

After retiring from baseball at the age of 31, Tommie Aaron worked as a scout for several teams, including the Braves and the San Francisco Giants. He also worked in player development for the Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tommie Aaron passed away on August 16, 1984, at the age of 45 due to leukemia.
