Tommie Agee Autographs
Tommie Agee was born on August 9, 1942, in Magnolia, Alabama, and grew up to become an outstanding baseball player. He began his baseball career as a center fielder for the Chicago White Sox in 1966, where he quickly caught attention as an excellent prospect. During his rookie year, he hit .273 with 22 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 44 stolen bases, which made him an instant hit with the fans. He also won the American League Rookie of the Year award that year.
Agee continued to excel in his baseball career, and his skills as an outfielder were particularly notable. He was known for his incredible speed and agility, which allowed him to make stunning catches on the field. During his time with the White Sox, he was a two-time All-Star (1966 and 1967) and won two Gold Glove Awards (1966 and 1967). He helped lead the White Sox to the 1967 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals, where he hit two home runs in Game 3 and made one of the greatest catches in World Series history.
Tommie Agee finished his baseball career playing for several other teams, including the New York Mets, Houston Astros, and St. Louis Cardinals. He retired after the 1973 season with a career batting average of .255, 130 home runs, and 433 RBIs. However, he will always be remembered as a standout player with the Chicago White Sox, where he had some of his most memorable moments and helped lead the team to the 1967 World Series. Agee passed away in 2001, and in 2003, the White Sox honored him by retiring his number 26.
