Tony Zych is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners. He was born on August 7, 1990, in Hazelcrest, Illinois, and attended the University of Louisville before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fourth round of the 2011 MLB draft. During his college career, Zych was the closer for the Louisville Cardinals, setting a school record with 19 saves in 2010. He was highly regarded for his velocity, regularly hitting 97-98 mph on his fastball. After being drafted by the Cubs, Zych spent five seasons in their minor league system before being traded to the Mariners in 2015. He made his MLB debut on September 4, 2015, and appeared in 12 games for the Mariners that season, posting a 2.45 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched.

Despite having a successful rookie season, Zych struggled with injuries in subsequent years, appearing in only 15 games in 2017 and 2018 combined. He retired from professional baseball in 2019 after not appearing in any games that season.
