Wood's most notable accomplishments came during his time with the Cubs. During the 2013 season, he was a key member of their pitching staff and helped lead them to their first National League Championship Series in over a decade. In that same season, he was also selected to the All-Star team for the first and only time in his career. Over the course of his career, Wood compiled a 57-61 record with a 4.00 ERA and 834 strikeouts.

In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Wood was also known for his versatility. He started his career primarily as a starting pitcher but also found success as a relief pitcher. He even hit 11 home runs throughout his career, which is an impressive feat for a pitcher. After an 11-year career, Wood announced his retirement from baseball in 2021. Despite never winning a World Series, Wood's career was successful and memorable for his time as a reliable pitcher for multiple teams. Read even more about Travis Wood at Wikipedia
