Vic Aldridge Autographs
Vic Aldridge was an American professional baseball player who was born on October 25, 1893, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He was a right-handed pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds from 1917 to 1928. Aldridge began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1912 and gradually worked his way up to the major leagues.
Aldridge had a successful career as a pitcher, finishing with a record of 94-73, a 3.84 ERA, and 754 strikeouts during his eleven seasons in the major leagues. He was known for his curveball and changeup, and he relied on control rather than speed to get batters out. In 1918, he had one of the best seasons of his career, with a record of 27-10 and a 2.21 ERA. He also led the league in shutouts that year.
After retiring from baseball, Aldridge stayed involved in the game as a scout and coach. He worked for the Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Montreal Expos during his career. He passed away on January 12, 1973, at the age of 79. Aldridge was remembered as a skilled pitcher who had a great career in the major leagues and contributed to the sport in many ways throughout his life.
