Raschi started his professional career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1946, but he was later traded to the New York Yankees. His stint with the Yankees was a fruitful one, as he won three World Series titles and earned several accolades, including two All-Star selections. Raschi's pitching style was primarily based on power, as he threw a hard fastball and had great control over his pitches. His form was so good that he even bagged a Silver Slugger award for having the most hits among pitchers in 1953.

In addition to his successful baseball career, Raschi was also known for his stint in the World War II as a Sergeant in the United States Army. After his playing days, he coached at the minor league level for several years before retiring in 1988. Known as a fierce competitor on the mound, Vic Raschi was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame and the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to the sport of baseball. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 69, leaving behind a lasting legacy on the game that he loved dearly. Read even more about Vic Raschi at Wikipedia
