Wade Rowdon was born on September 7, 1960, in Riverhead, New York. He was an American professional baseball player and coach who played in Major League Baseball as a utility infielder for seven seasons from 1984 to 1990. Rowdon was drafted by the New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 1981 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Yankees' Class A affiliate, Fort Lauderdale Yankees, in 1981. In 1983, he was called up to the Major Leagues to play in the last game of the season. After a few more games with the Yankees in 1984, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox, where he had the best season of his playing career in 1986. He hit .273 with four home runs and 41 RBIs in 118 games that season. He also played for the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners before ending his playing career with the minor league teams of Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays.

After his playing career, Rowdon remained in baseball by becoming a coach. He spent several years coaching in the minor leagues and was appointed the bench coach for the Florida Marlins in 2002. He later coached for the San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, and Chicago Cubs. Rowdon was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2019 and died on March 13, 2020, at the age of 59.
