Wally Bunker Autographs
Wally Bunker was an American professional baseball player who was born on January 25, 1945, in North Carolina, United States. He made his major league debut for the Baltimore Orioles at the young age of 19 in 1963, and by 1964, he was one of the key pitchers for the team. With his excellent fastball and control, Bunker was an essential part of the Orioles team that won the American League pennant in 1966. In the playoffs that year, he pitched two complete game victories against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
During his five years with the Orioles, Bunker posted a win-loss record of 49-37 with a 3.51 ERA in 138 games pitched. He was also named an All-Star in 1965, the same year he struck out the Yankees' Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris twice in a game. In 1968, the Orioles traded him to the Kansas City Royals, where he continued his career until 1971 before retiring due to arm injuries.
Overall, Bunker's baseball career consisted of six seasons, during which he had a record of 60-52 with a 3.51 ERA and 574 strikeouts in 956 innings pitched. Despite his relatively short career, Bunker remains a standout pitcher for his ability to join the major leagues at a young age and hold his own against top hitters of his time.
