Wally Post was a renowned professional baseball player who was born on July 9, 1929, in St. Wendelin, Ohio. Post spent twelve consecutive seasons in Major League Baseball with four different teams. He played as an outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins, and the Washington Senators. Post retired from professional baseball in 1964, finishing with a career batting average of .266, 899 hits, 210 homers, and 699 RBIs. After his baseball career, he went back to Ohio to work as a window and door salesman. He died on January 6, 1982, at the age of 52. Wally Post will continue to be remembered as one of the most prominent and accomplished baseball players of his time, especially for his powerful swings, which earned him the nickname "The Shufflin' Ranger."
