Wellington Castillo is a professional baseball catcher who currently plays for the Washington Nationals in the Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on April 24, 1987, in San Isidro, Dominican Republic, Castillo was initially signed by the then-major league team the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent in 2004. He spent nearly a decade with the team, watching his game and skill sets progress over the years.
Castillo made his MLB debut with the Cubs on August 11, 2010, against the San Francisco Giants.
