Over the course of his 16-year career with the Yankees, Ford amassed an impressive record of 236 wins and 106 losses with a 2.75 ERA. He was a ten-time All-Star and won the Cy Young Award in 1961. Ford also holds numerous World Series records, including most wins by a pitcher (10) and most consecutive scoreless innings pitched in World Series history (33). He was a key member of some of the greatest Yankee teams of all time, playing alongside legends such as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and Joe DiMaggio.

Ford's baseball career came to a close in 1967 due to injuries, but the left-hander left a lasting impact on the game. In 1974, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and his number 16 was retired by the Yankees. He remained active in the sport for many years, serving as a broadcaster and coach for the team. Ford passed away in 2020 at the age of 91, but his legacy as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history continues to live on. Read even more about Whitey Ford at Wikipedia
