Will Craig is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a first baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Born in 1994 in Johnson City, Tennessee, Craig exhibited a strong interest in baseball from a very young age. He was an exceptional baseball player in high school and college, playing for Science Hill High School and Wake Forest Demon Deacons baseball team before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016.
Craig began his professional baseball career in 2016 playing for the West Virginia Black Bears, the Class A Short Season affiliate of Pittsburgh Pirates, where he batted .280 with 13 home runs and 58 RBIs. He played with different minor league teams over the next few years before he made his major league debut with the Pirates in 2020. Though he did not have a great start in his debut year, Craig showed progress in the following season, where he batted .228 with 5 home runs despite having limited playing time.
In addition to his hitting and fielding skills, Craig is known for his work ethic and dedication to the sport. He is a versatile player who can play at multiple positions such as first base, third base, and outfield. With his talent and determination, Craig has the potential to become a key player for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the coming years.
