Aaron Gray is a retired American professional basketball player, born on December 7, 1984, in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California. Gray attended Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania, where his phenomenal basketball abilities were first recognized. Standing at an impressive 7 feet tall, Gray garnered national attention and was scouted by numerous universities. Ultimately, he chose to attend the University of Pittsburgh, where he played college basketball, leading his team to the NCAA tournament Sweet 16 in 2007, for the first time in 35 years.
After five seasons with the University of Pittsburgh, Gray was drafted as the 49th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. He spent the first two seasons of his professional career with the Bulls, where he was known for his physical style of play and outstanding rebounding skills. After leaving the Bulls, he went on to play for multiple teams, including the New Orleans Hornets, the Toronto Raptors, and the Detroit Pistons. Despite never being a starting player, Gray was an essential player and was always a force to be reckoned with on the court, especially when it came to rebounding.
After a few seasons in the NBA, Gray transitioned into professional basketball overseas, playing for several teams before his retirement in 2019.
