Adrian Griffin was born on July 4, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. He attended Seaman High School in Topeka, where he was a standout basketball player. Griffin then went on to play for Seton Hall University, where he led the team to the Sweet 16 in 1994. He was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year in both 1994 and 1996. Griffin was not selected in the 1996 NBA draft, but was signed by the Boston Celtics as a free agent. He played for several NBA teams during his career, including the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, and Seattle SuperSonics.
