Adrian Griffin Autographs
Adrian Griffin was born on July 4, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. He attended Seaman High School in Topeka, where he was a standout basketball player. Griffin then went on to play for Seton Hall University, where he led the team to the Sweet 16 in 1994. He was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year in both 1994 and 1996.
Griffin was not selected in the 1996 NBA draft, but was signed by the Boston Celtics as a free agent. He played for several NBA teams during his career, including the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, and Seattle SuperSonics. Griffin’s career highlights include starting for the Mavericks in Game 7 of the 2006 NBA Finals, and being named the Bulls’ team captain in 2005. His defensive prowess and work ethic made him a valuable bench player throughout his career, and he was admired by teammates and coaches alike.
After retiring from playing in 2008, Griffin immediately transitioned into a coaching career. He served as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, and Orlando Magic before being hired as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors in 2018. In 2020, he was named interim head coach for the Raptors during the NBA’s restart in Orlando. Griffin’s journey from undrafted free agent to NBA veteran to successful coach is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the game of basketball.
