Allan Ray Autographs
Allan Ray is a former American professional basketball player who was born on June 17, 1984, in The Bronx, New York City. Ray grew up in St. Raymond's Old Boys club and attended St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, where he played basketball for their team, the Ravens. Ray quickly emerged as one of the most talented players in his high school, leading the Ravens to two New York City Catholic High School championships. He was named a McDonald's All-American in 2002 and won the New York state Mr. Basketball award in 2001 and 2002.
After graduating from St. Raymond's, Ray attended Villanova University on a basketball scholarship, where he continued to excel in the sport. He played for the Villanova Wildcats from 2002-2006 as a point guard, starting every game of his senior year. During his time at Villanova, Ray was named twice to the All-Big East Team and once to the All-Big 5 Team. In his final year, he led the Wildcats to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament, scoring 26 points in a win over Arizona, and helped the team reach the Elite Eight. Ray finished his college career with 1,920 points, which ranks fifth on the school's all-time scoring list.
After college, Ray signed a contract with Miami Heat but was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2006, where he played for one season before moving on to play for European teams in Italy and Spain. He had a successful career playing overseas, earning two All-Star selections, and winning the Euroleague championship in 2015 with Real Madrid. His time in the NBA may have been brief, but Ray's legacy as a Villanova basketball great will remain. He accomplished many notable feats during his college career, earning recognition as one of the most talented players in Villanova history, a true testament to his basketball skills.
