Alton Lister Autographs
Alton Lister is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 17 seasons. Lister was born in Dallas, Texas in 1958 and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Mesa High School where he was a standout basketball player, and helped lead his team to two consecutive state championships in 1976 and 1977.
Lister went on to play collegiate basketball for Arizona State University where he was named to the All Pac-10 First Team in his senior year. In 1981, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks and played with them for five seasons before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics. With the SuperSonics, Lister was named the team's defensive player of the year for the 1987-88 season. Throughout his NBA career, Lister played for several other teams including the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, and Portland Trail Blazers before retiring in 1998.
Over the course of his career, Lister proved to be a valuable player due to his height, athleticism, and defensive skills. He was known for his ability to block shots and grab rebounds, and his hard work and dedication on the court earned him the nickname "The Rock". Lister finished his NBA career with over 8,000 points, 8,000 rebounds and 2,000 blocks, and his contributions to the league were honored when he was inducted into the Arizona State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
