Hardaway quickly established himself as one of the premier players in the NBA. He and teammate Shaquille O'Neal formed a formidable duo, leading the Magic to the NBA Finals in 1995. Hardaway's ability to score, pass, rebound, and defend made him a multi-dimensional player and a matchup nightmare for opponents. He was a four-time NBA All-Star, and he earned All-NBA honors five times during his career.

Injuries began to take a toll on Hardaway's career, as he missed significant time due to knee and foot issues. He played for several other teams after leaving the Magic, including the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. Despite his injury-plagued career, Hardaway remains a beloved figure in basketball circles for his flashy on-court play, including his trademark "penny" crossover move. He's been compared to players like Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry, who have similar ballhandling skills and shooting ability, showcasing the lasting impact he has had on the game of basketball.
