Bill Sharman was a professional basketball player and coach who was born on May 25, 1926 in Abilene, Texas. Sharman began his basketball career at Porterville High School in California where he excelled as a player. He then went on to play college basketball at the University of Southern California where he was a two-time All-Conference player. After college, Sharman was drafted by the Washington Capitols in the 1950 NBA draft and played for the team for one season before being traded to the Boston Celtics. More about Bill Sharman
