Bill Wennington Autographs
Bill Wennington is a former Canadian professional basketball player who made a name for himself in the NBA. He was born on April 26, 1963, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Prior to his stint in the NBA, Wennington played for St. John's University in New York, where he led the Redmen to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. He was eventually picked by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 1985 NBA Draft, but it was with the Chicago Bulls that he found the most success.
Wennington played for the Bulls from 1993 to 1999, during which he won three NBA championships alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Despite never being a star player, Wennington was known for his ability to stretch the floor and hit long-range jump shots, making him a valuable asset to the Bulls' championship teams. Moreover, as a 7'0" center, he provided a solid presence in the paint and was not afraid to defend opposing big men. He had some of his best seasons with the Bulls, averaging 5.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game during the 1995-96 season.
After his tenure with the Bulls, Wennington played one season with the Sacramento Kings before retiring in 2000. Following his playing career, he took on a number of roles in basketball, working as a commentator, coach, and basketball operations advisor. Wennington was inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the sport. With his impressive NBA career, Wennington has solidified himself as one of the best Canadian basketball players of all time.
