Billy Cunningham Autographs

Billy Cunningham is a retired American basketball player and coach who played a significant role in the Philadelphia 76ers' success in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on June 3, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up playing basketball in his neighborhood. Cunningham went on to have a stellar high school career before attending the University of North Carolina, where he played for the Tar Heels.
Cunningham's professional career began in 1965, when he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers. He quickly became one of the team's stars and was known for his tenacity on the court. He played as forward, known for his ability to score and rebound. Cunningham was named to the All-Star team four times and helped the 76ers win the NBA championship in 1967. He retired in 1976, with a career average of 20.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
After retiring from playing, Cunningham pursued coaching and served as head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers from 1977 to 1985. He helped the team win the NBA championship in 1983 and was named NBA Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1985. Cunningham also served as a commentator for CBS and ESPN for several years. In recognition of his contributions to the game of basketball, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986.
