Bob Pettit Autographs

Bob PettitBob Pettit is an American former professional basketball player. He was born on December 12, 1932, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pettit attended Louisiana State University where he played basketball under the legendary coach, Harry Rabenhorst. During his college years, he was known for his exceptional scoring ability and rebounding. In his senior year, he led LSU to its first Southeastern Conference championship.
After college, Pettit was selected by the Milwaukee Hawks in the 1954 NBA draft. He spent his entire 11-year career with the Hawks, and during that time, he became one of the top players in the league. Pettit was a 6-time All-NBA First Team selection and won the NBA MVP award twice (1956 and 1959). In addition, he was a 10-time NBA All-Star, the first player in NBA history to score 20,000 points, and was named to the NBA 25th Anniversary Team in 1971.
Pettit was known for his versatile playing style and was one of the first players who could play both inside and outside. He had a deadly jump shot that was almost impossible for defenders to block, and his rebounding ability was exceptional. Pettit led the Hawks to the NBA championship in 1958, and he was named the NBA Finals MVP for his outstanding performance. He retired in 1965 with career averages of 26.4 points and 16.2 rebounds per game, still considered among the best in NBA history. Pettit was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1970.
